Cinderellas glass slipper? - why didnt cinderellas shoes change back

Just a quick question, read Cinderella, my daughter, and asked why make the glass slipper, not yet transformed into something else, when everything is back to normal at midnight, had the 24 years I led to believe that the only explanation that does not think that because they do not wearin under a glass slipper, the prince remained possible on the hunt for the owner!
